Rails Developer
Based in Paris

The position:

Our platform has to evolve quickly to meet the changes of the fast pace social media ecosystem and respond to our customers’ needs. In this context, you will join the development team, meaning:
- Communicate with the product team to create new features
- Maintain and improve the current applications
- Write automated tests
- Be opinionated and have ideas regarding technical choices
- Use the main social media APIs (Facebook, Twitter...)
- Optimise performance
- Improve the code quality by following best practices and refactoring of the existing code base.

Skills we’re looking for:

- Significant experience in web development with Ruby (about 2 or 3 years)
- Familiarity with the Ruby on Rails framework
- Enjoy teamwork
- Familiarity with Git
- Experience with JavaScript and the framework jQuery
- Experience and interest in writing automated tests with frameworks such as RSpec or TestUnit
- Loving beautiful code
- Liking having fun while writing code while being able to stay pragmatic when needed

The following skills are nice to have as well:

- Experience with one of the main social network’s API, especially Facebook’s
- Open source contributions (applications, tools, gems, plugins...)
- Some knowledge about pair programming
- Experience with Redis, Rails 3.x, Ruby 1.9, HTML5, CoffeeScript
- Use of agile development methods
- Knowledge of MongoDB or another No SQL database
